THE NIGHTRACE SCHLADMING
On January 24, 2023, the time had finally come and Schladming was once again the scene of one of the most spectacular ski races in the World Cup winter with around 40,000 ski fans and an incomparable atmosphere: The Nightrace Schladming. We were able to be right in the middle of the action with our red wine blend “Taste the Race”!
STYRIAN CHARITY RACE
To get in the mood for the floodlit spectacle, the Styrian Charity Race took place the evening before with personalities from business, culture and sports, including Olympic and world champions. This year, we were also part of the event with a team. Winemaker Katharina participated together with Georg Krenkel (Helvetia), Ranko Antunovic (Gady Family) and ski legend Helmut Höflehner. The net profit was used for the benefit of young skiers.
Afterwards, the “Bründl Sports Night” took place at the Sporthotel Royer, where Thaller wine was served exclusively. It was a special honor for us to present the official The Nightrace Schladming wine, the “Taste the Race” both at the Bründl Sports Night and in the VIP area on the day of the Nightrace.
THE LEgende – CHAPTER 2
The days are getting shorter, autumn is coming into the country, the grapes are setting out to make wine, symbolizing a new beginning. Then it is time to set out and launch the second chapter.
In September, there is an exclusive opportunity to dive into the world of “Taste the Race” wine and be present when the new vintage is cuvéed. At this unforgettable event in September, the focus will not only be on the wine, but also on former ski stars who will talk about their sporting highlights.

YOUTH DEVELOPMENT IN SKIING
The Styrian Ski Association supports about 80 alpine skiing athletes, from the children’s group U11 up to the youth, all young athletes are trained. Our goal is to promote hopeful Styrian talents and to train them so that they can make the step into an ÖSV squad. In order for this to succeed, however, we also need an appropriate budget.
We would like to thank our many sponsors, donors and supporters who ensure that we can provide our young athletes with the best trainers. But not only racing is our concern. Getting children from all over Styria excited about winter sports and awakening their interest in exercise is also an important part of our work with young talent.
SUPPORT FOR YOUNG SKIERS
The net profit of the “Styrian Charity Race” will be used 100% for the promotion of the Styrian Ski Team, so that in the future one or the other can also make the jump into the World Cup. The Weinschloss Koarl Thaller supports us – the Styrian Ski Association – with a limited special edition of a very special red wine, with me as wine patron. The result is a red wine that not only impresses with its complexity and richness of aromas, but also with its social commitment. I am very happy about this, because with every case sold, a part of it benefits our next generation.
